How to Book
In the first instance, please contact us to check dates and for queries. School visits take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

New:  The Centre will be closed for organised visits for the months of August, September, December and January. This is to help the wildlife to recover.

Please note that the Trustees of Barnet Environment Centre have not increased the cost of primary school visits for the last 11years! 

In each case, charges are for a class of up to 30 children.

Early Years, Infants and Junior School Visits

£130 per 2 hour session (normally 10 am – 12 noon)
For an additional charge of £20 you may stay until 12.45pm so that the children can eat their packed lunches.   The time restriction is because time is needed for another school may arrive for a 2.00pm session.

£195 per 4 hour session (10 am – 2 pm to include 1 hour lunch break)      

Primary schools asking for changes to set courses will be charged an extra £25 to cover this from September 2024

Secondary School Visits

£250 per 4 hour session (10 am – 2 pm to include 1 hour lunch break)

Important Notes

  • We will send you Risk Assessment Guidance when we confirm your booking.  You are responsible for the children in your care.
  • For your visit, you will need to supply your own First Aid and also to bring a mobile phone as there is currently no phone connection at the Centre.
  • Adult:Children expected ratios are as follows: for EYFS 1:3; KS1 1:4/5; KS2 1:6; KS3 – KS5 1:10. Failure to abide by ratios can result in children not being able to do some of the activities.
